Using long light sources to create unique highlights has become extremely desirable. Long fluorescent tubes fit the bill perfectly. The idea was perfected by Kino Flo, who create great solutions using fluorescents, but for most of us, their systems are out of our budget. Today, we’ll learn to create our own lights.

We are going to cover all the materials needed and the construction procedure. It will produce over 200W and have a color temperature of 5600K.

Please revise connections to the switch – You should use crimp type spade connectors or solder type connectors. The method used in the video is unacceptable, the connections are not reliable. Is the chrome spray conductive? (Example of crimp connector http://www.repairconnector.com/product_images/a/575/3157x1__11812_zoom.jpg)

Under no circumstances should anyone wire a light fixture in the manner that was shown in the video. That is an extremely unsafe and unreliable method. Electrical tape should never be used in this manner to wrap bare wire. Wire nuts should be used in place of the electrical tape. The idea is good, but the method to build it, very dangerous.
