    Hey PhotoTuts+,

Love your site and I love Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop.

  • http://www.tplpc.com Nicolas Widart

    Looking Good!

    :)

  • Michele

Ironic, my gravatar is the same bokeh effect shown above. :P

Anyway, my favorite software for editing my photos is a mix between Photoshop Elements for when I need to make some quick changes and Photoshop Extended for when I’m doing something that requires more features. I’ve tried the Pixelmator trial and it’s a great, lightweight app that could certainly replace Photoshop Elements for me!

    • Flumm

Fail, you where supposed to leave your email too.

      • Michele

Oh, is that an e-mail input I see below? Also, I’d rather not post my e-mail address where everyone can see it, thanks. ;)

  • John Wilson

My favourite software is Lightroom 2 for almost everything. For more precise tweaks, I take it into Photoshop Elements 6.

  • http://www.designbyadmiral.com/ Doug S.

I’ve been really impressed with Lightroom in the past. Kind of makes any photo look amazing! Highly impressive.

  • http://simonhucko.blogspot.com/ Simon

I’m a big fan of Aperture – the image management features are wonderful, and 99% of the edits I want to do can be done either in the software or with a plugin.

Before I got serious about photography, Picasa was a great free tool to organize, edit and upload/share images

  • http://twitter.com/danieleliberati Daniele

    Great giveaway!

My favourites photography softwares are Photoshop and The Gimp.

  • http://joshboulton.co.uk Josh

My favorite photography is Elements. I know it’s not that powerful, but I mostly just do small touch-ups that don’t require anything stronger, and obviously being lighter means it will run faster etc.

    • http://joshboulton.co.uk Josh

      *software

My fave photography software is Photoshop, but i don’t like to use it all the time, and it costs too much! i’m ver interested on testing Pixelmator!

  • Glenn Van Bogaert

I like to use Photoshop CS4 extended for webdesign and photo manipulation. I’ve tried Pixelmator before, and it’s a great application for photo manipulation.

  • Valdemar Balza

    my favorite is Aperture!

  • http://www.mike-moreno.com mike

OH that would be nice to have
and my favorite piece of photosoftware if Bridge.

  • http://www.likeseasons.com Armando Espinoza

My one is Photoshop Extended. And for the iPhone is Mill Colour very intuitive.

  • @gariphic

For me it’s Photoshop. Having said that on many occasions PS is overkill + with each release the program gets more + more bloated. Sometimes I fire up Graphic Converter

  • http://www.uncompiled.org Christopher Nguyen

My favorite piece of photography software is Apple’s iPhoto. What I love about this software is it’s accessibility and ease of use. It has come pre-installed with every Apple computer that I have purchased, so I have never needed to purchase a separate copy. Whenever I plug in my camera, it automatically downloads my images, creates a new “Event”, and allows me to tag photos. It also integrates well with Flickr and Facebook, which are my main venues for photo sharing.

If I didn’t own an Apple computer, I would select Google’s Picasa, which is a great multi-platform alternative to iPhoto. It has many of the same features and integrates well with Google’s Picasaweb service.

  • http://www.michelbosma.nl Michel Bosma

I really like to work with Aperture for my photo’s but for the quick and dirty I sometimes work with iPhoto

  • http://ach-design.fr crewstyle

    Hi =)

My favourites photography softwares are Photoshop and Aperture 2.
    Thanks for the contest.

  • Joseph

    I love Adobe Lightroom.

  • http://www.tmkdesign.dk Thoms Knudsen

    Photoshop CS4

  • userz2k

Hello, my favorite software is Photoshop. I can hardly think of any other similar software, but PixelMator is also an alternative

  • http://www.dnb-film.fr nobru

    i need one….

  • betamakz

    Photoshop

  • Rolando

I’ve always been a Photoshop user.

  • j delatorre

Def Photoshop…its just an all out work horse.

  • Kristen

    I like Photoshop!

  • http://www.ademaweb.nl jeroen

Photoshop does the trick, but Pixelmator boots a hell lot faster. Both my favorite apps!

  • Paul Burton

I love Aperture. I really like how expansive it is. Really has been a great tool for me to use.

  • http://www.gioledda.ca Gio

    Adobe Photoshop

  • John

    favorite software: Aperture

  • http://www.getflourish.com fl0urish

Photoshop. Although i tried Lightroom and liked the speed I love to know that i can achieve everything i may think of with photoshop.

  • http://eugen.io Eugenio Grigolon

    Lightroom!

  • Mark

Sadly I still use Photoshop… Would love to get away from it, but it has too many very useful features. I’m also using Aperture for all my basic RAW editing (just to get away from Adobe, since Lightroom seems to be the better option right now)

  • Ian

Pick me, pick me, pick me! =)

  • D3V4

My favourite is Adobe Photoshop of course, what else could it be? ^^

  • http://www.pixelfumes.com Ben Pritchard

I’m a big Photoshop guy but would love to try out Pixelmator!

  • http://photographyforsoul.com Can Berkol

Great! My fav. is Photoshop although I use Canon’s Digital Photo Professional more often due to some camera features.

  • http://www.calvadoswebdesign.com Harry Atkins

I love Aperture and really enjoy using Photoshop, I would love to try Pixelmator though ;)

  • darcho

For changes like resize contrast I use ASD See. For photography i really prefer Gimp for Linux and Photoshop :)

  • Andrew

My favorite Image software is Photoshop . . . though mainly because it’s what I’ve used. I am always happy to find small utilities that do simple things fast and intuitively. Photoshop is overkill 90% of the time.

  • http://viniciusandrade.com Vinícius Chaves de Andrade

My favorite photography softwares are Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop extended. But I think that some works would be done much faster with a lighter yet powerful software like Pixelmator, so I’m looking forward to win this.

  • Justin

I personally love Aperture, even if it does take some getting used to. I also use Photoshop Mobile on my iPhone which, for an iPhone app is fantastic! From the looks of things, Pixelmator could be a replacement for me!

  • Dino Franke

My favourite app is still Photoshop. Since v. 2.5 now (god, I’m getting old ;)
I tried the demo of Pixelmator and it’s definitely a good tool.
    Cheers
    Dino

  • Tim

My favorite software for editing my photos is Adobe Lightroom, but i liked trial Pixelmator. Magnificent design!

I would be glad to get a license this excellent program.

  • erikcantu

photoshop is my favorite and main go to.

  • Oscar Alaniz

Photoshop is my favorite, I use it everyday! Also I like Aperture very much.

  • Alex

I have tried many and only liked a few… I have tried Gimp, Acorn and a few others but not found one that I really liked. Though I used the demo for Pixelmator and quite liked that (till it ran out…)

  • http://www.nickbits.co.uk Nick Young

At present, Adobe Lightroom (Version 3 Beta is a fantastic improvement).

  • http://wyctim.com/ wyctim

My favourites: Acorn, Preview and Pixelmator. :)

  • http://aeonline.hu eMeM

    Adobe Photoshop rulez :)

  • http://muscarr.deviantart.com Muscar

My favorite is Photoshop, I’m a designer and use it almost every day. It’s a great piece of software, even tough it’s a bit to resource hungry.

  • Dennis Vieira

I have always been a Photoshop user. But since i only work on websites and not print, Pixelmator seems like it has enough features to cover what I do and the price is right!

  • http://themeforest.net/user/webbografico WEBBOgrafico

my favourite piece of photography software is Photoshop… and maybe my next favourite will be a free copy of Pixelmator…

  • Rachael

The best I’ve used so far is photoshop, it’s great for editing. :) But I’ve tried the pixelmator trial as well and I like it!

  • Oleg

I really like Aperture and use it for most of my needs as a hobbyist photographer. On the other hand I lack image editing software for more artistic adjustment and looks like Pixelmator could fill this gap.

  • http://www.creatyna.pl Agahmemnon

My favourite app is ofc Photoshop

  • http://www.imgdigital.com.ar Federico Reinoso

Its been a while from me and pixelmator, but i remember some nice fetures, i gonna dowload the demo in a few days.

  • Fabio

I Just use iPhoto for editing photos but I really want to change over to Pixelmator! I wish win one copy !!!

  • Vojtech

    Aperture rocks!

  • m7zhao

Definitely Photoshop, I have dabbled with others, but despite how bloated it is, Photoshop’s feature set is unmatched.

  • http://admittedlydutch.com Andrew

My favorite so far has been Picturesque, which I got through the last Macheist bundle. It’s perfect for quick image editing for my blogs or for work.

  • http://www.totushi.com totushi

    my fav app is photoshop!

  • http://flickr.com/photos/krivadesign Thomas Vandermeiren

I’d have to say, Lightroom 3.

  • http://www.hubb7designs.com Steve Hubbard

I wanna win one of these!

  • Victor

My favorite has to be a mix of Photoshop and Acorn. I would love to use Pixelmator because it is designed with speed, simplicity and a great user interface. It would make my life easier.

  • PJ Taylor

I’d have to say my favorite photo editing software is Lightroom! I love the ease of tweaking exposure + using Presets for quick and dramatic effects.

  • http://flickr.com/photos/fpangborn Forrest Pangborn

My favorite software is probably the Gimp, but I’m becoming a bigger fan of Photoshop now that I have a (legal) copy of it. Pixelmator looks pretty slick though!

  • http://www.twitter.com/ritwikr Ritwik

My favorite photography software would have to be photoshop, but I love picturesque for quick and small changes, especially for presentations / blogging.

  • http://flickr.com/8caliber 8caliber

Great prize. I use a combination of Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom.

  • http://www.twitter.com/mikecase @MikeCase

So far I’d have to say iPhoto. (I’m new to the mac family :P)

  • Nixy J Morales

I’m new to the Mac so I am using Aperture 2.0! I’d love to try my hand at Pixelmator!

  • http://antoniopiu.com Antonio

I’m using right evaluating Adobe Lightroom.
I find this a great software.

    Thanks for this opportunity.

  • Christopher S.

My Favorite Software is Lightroom and Photoshop

  • http://twitter.com/lunarlie LaToya

    i like lightroom :)

  • Tobi

My favorite Photo-Editing-Software was PaintShopPro, until I switched to Mac. Since then I’m searching for a software to fill this gap. ;)

  • GeoffD

    Photoshop Lightroom…Photoshop if required.

  • http://noods.tumblr.com Dan Higbie

Right now my favorite piece of image editing software is Mill Color on the iPhone!

  • Greg Mason

I’m switching away from photoshop to other tools. So far, I love how fast working with Pixelmator is. Tried out Acorn too, but it was a little too simplistic for my needs.

  • http://twitter.com/NextMemory NextMemory

Photoshop is good times, but I tried Pixelmator before and it was cool, and Abduzeedo always does great stuff in Pixelmator that I would love to learn.

  • Matthieu

    Let there be win !

  • Trino

I’ve really come to rely on Microsoft Expression Media as part of my photography pipeline; makes it very easy to organize and skim through all my photos! Good stuff.

  • http://mathieu.posterous.com Mathieu

So my favorite software for editing my photos is Preview.app. Sounds silly but Preview has tons of great features that are mostly unknown.

I am a web designer and Pixelmator would be a very handy tool for quick editing :-)

    Thank you!

  • Simon

My favourite software was always Photoshop, but since I switched to Mac, I’ve been looking for an alternative, because Photoshop doesn’t have the proper Mac OS feel (at least for me) :) I’ve tried many different pieces of software, but Pixelmator wins. Too bad my trial is going to expire soon…

  • http://tehdik.com David Klein

    Aperture!

  • s0nic

Aperture – good workflow, you get fast results, and its stylish (although the font could be bigger)!

  • http://www.achikochi.fr achikochi

My favorite photography software are lightroom 2 and photoshop cs4. I use combined with photomatix or silver efex from nik software.

  • Filip Baraka

I’m using Apple Aperture for major part of my photo workflow. PS only if absolutely required or for touchups.Tried Pixelmator before, but only small peak-a-boo’s ;)

  • Francesco

my favorite app is Pixelmator, but i used it only in trial mode :(

    ciao from Italy

    francesco

  • http://joseph.mclaughlin.me/ Joseph McLaughlin

    I love Photoshop :)

  • Leonor Pinto

For really small editing i like Skitch and on a more profund level I really liked pixelmator, when I tried it for free.

  • http://keehun.com Keehun

I use Acorn a lot. However, I would really love Pixelmator! I’ve wanted it since day one..

    :)

  • http://twitter.com/Josso000 Johan

    Well…

I have tried using Photoshop but I need some more training to use it as a pro (and even that will take a long time)
Abduzeedo have some really awesome tutorials in Pixelmator, that I have tried in the trial.

GIMP is a mess until you get to learn it – but I think that Pixelmator may just be the one for me. :)

  • Barron

Love GIMP, but mostly because it is free. So I’m sure I could learn to love a free copy of Pixelmator!

  • http://youtube.com/markmckay Mark McKay

Photoshop for the iPhone – free and mobile.

  • Julius

Honestly, I like Photoshop. But I could really use Pixelmator!

  • Alex Podaras

My favourite piece of photography software, is Lightroom.

My favourite photography software is The Gimp.

  • Justin

    The Gimp

  • Rik

  • Thomas Huxley

Adobe Lightroom is my choice although I am starting to be swayed by Capture One Pro though which has an amazing RAW
    converter.

  • Aiden Tailor

I like Photoshop best, but mostly in combination with Illustrator!

  • bjana

    adobe light room is awesome

  • http://www.wilgje.net Marjolein

I’ve loved Photoshop for a long time, but then I bought a MacBook and I just didn’t get around to trying any photography software for a while. Then I tried out Pixelmator, and I was amazed by how much easier it is to figure out than Photoshop. Right now it’s definitely my favourite :)

  • http://www.lipelip.com lipelip

Photoshop is the best but I really want to try pixelmator :)

  • Jason

Having worked in linux for such a long time I really enjoy gimp. Photoshop has been my editor of choice though since switching to the Mac recently.

  • http://www.twitter.com/chrisherbert1 Chris Herbert

Current fav app: Photoshop b/c I’ve used it for 15 years but fav future app: Pixelmator, hands down. Used it during beta and would love to hang up an Adobe app and support a small developer! The Pixelmator team & Abduzeedo has really pushed the envelope with this app in showing people how to do great effects.

  • Joey

Currently use Photoshop for my web design work. However if Pixelmator had vector tools, layer styles and layer groups I’d be able to use it full time for web design. Photoshop is so bloated and, outside of the cluttered tool panels, Pixelmator is very sexy.

  • Me

    Lightroom 2 :)

  • Sam De Decker

    So cool!

My favorite is Lightroom .. but this can change to pixelmator :D

  • jfen

Definitely Photoshop. Tried using Acorn for quick edits, but since it wasn’t any faster than Photoshop and didn’t include half the tools, I went back to Photoshop. I’ve had my curiosity sparked with Pixelmator for a long time now though.

  • http://www.arcticwebdevelopment.com Stefan de Graaf

Tried out Aperture, but it doesn’t have the advanced toolset Lightroom has. So Lightroom 2 all the way!

PS: Pixelmator looks like a cool app.

  • http://www.mdfilms.net Mike D

    I love Pixelmator

  • http://lekevicius.com Jonas Lekevicius

    Woot, want Pixelmator (:

Currently I’m in love with Aperture.

  • David

Lightroom is definitely my favorite. . .

  • http://www.evardsson.com/blog/ Sjan Evardsson

I have been using Photoshop since version 3 (or so), one of the first apps I paid good money for back in the day.

Currently I am using CS3 and plan on upgrading to CS4 in a few months.

Having a good lightweight image editor for quick jobs would be nice, though. I have tried several and been generally unhappy with them.

  • http://vintom.com Vin Thomas

I love the new Lightroom 3 Beta.

  • http://edmundojr.com Edmundo Junior

My favorite photography software is Photoshop, but it costs too much! I’m very interested on testing Pixelmator!

  • Reyo

Really hoping to win :) Good app.

  • Jay

Lightroom 2 is my software of choice… for now.

  • OSX Boy

My favourites photography software is Photoshop except for the cost!

  • Nikolaus

Looks like a brilliant App! Photoshop is my main tool to get the results I need. Looking forward to giving this a try!

  • http://www.sammorrell.co.nr Sam Morrell

My favourite photography software is without a doubt photoshop, it can handle nearly anything you throw at it… with a little knowledge of course. However, recently I’ve been rather liking Photogene for iPhone, it’s not as fully featured as Photoshop by any stretch of the imagination but it’s great for quickly tweaking photos on the road and posting online.

  • http://itolmach.com Ivan Tolmachev

    Wow! More Freebies!

  • http://thebookofjoe.com nanochrome

    Photoshop and acorn……………

  • http://toastr.co.nz Jacob

  • http://www.dvq.co.nz/blog Matt @ DVQ

  • Greg Miles

Lightroom or photoshop when it’s photo manipulation =)

  • Oliver Simonis

I Love working with Aperture in combination with GIMP.

  • Petter

Would love to get my hand on a pixelmator license.

  • http://www.marcusvisic.com Marcus

My favourite is Photoshop, but I am willing to try any alternatives

  • http://www.viercreative.com Brett Lieberman

    LightRoom + Photoshop FTW

  • Sax155

I luv photoshop, but i want to use pixelmator

    thnx

  • Matt

My favorite is Photoshop, though back in the day I used GraphicConverter.

  • Hector Lee

My favourite is pixelmator. Its much lighter than photoshop and i don’t use 90% of the features in photoshop. Missing some of the convenience but it just makes more sense to use less computing and brain power for simpler stuff.

  • Piotr Hellstein

I use mostly Photoshop, but Pixelmator is also really cool.

  • Matt Rajca

    I love Aperture 2 and Acorn 2!

  • http://www.flickr.com/kayveeinc Vicky Kotze

  • Bartek

    Hi,
Me personally love Aperture, and Lightroom (as Aperture doesn’t recognize sRAWs) but Pixelmator is great for simple manipulation with the image.. And simultaneously my trial expires soon.. ;)

  • Teo Farro

    Photoshop is the best!!

  • Karthik

My favourite is iPhoto, but its very basic..Photoshop is too costly for me to afford one…I can’t wait to try out Pixelmator…

  • http://www.carlesmarsal.com Carles

Photoshop combined with Camera RAW and Corel Painter

  • Thomas Furlonger

PhotoShop and Aperture are ones I probably use the most.. although I have tried Pixelmator out and would very much like to get into it.. it has that Mac feel that PhotoShop lacks.

  • kickbutt

    Hi,

I like photoshop and aperture to handle my photo.
    Pixelmator isn’t bad either.

    Thanks!

  • Jed Barker

For organizing, iphoto, for editing.. photoshop.

  • Aaron

Lightroom. I only use PS for photo manipulation or severe corrections.

  • Jeff

    Aperture 2!

  • Prashant

I love Adobe Lightroom! It weighs in the simplistic features of Photoshop while giving post-processing a new feel! :)

  • jedw

Aperture is a solid piece of software!

  • Keefe

I think Adobe’s software are overrated, personally, I’d prefer using something other than an Adobe product. like Pixelmator

I like Photoshop, but it’s just too expensive to buy the new updates all the time, especially since CS3 isn’t being supported under Snow Leopard. I’ve always wanted to give Pixelmator a try…

  • http://www.ev4n.com ev4n

  • Davis John

    Photoshop

  • http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcwighton/ Jacob

That would have to be iPhoto. Not for the editing but for the great way it lets you organise your photos.

  • http://moosevfx.wordpress.com -nw-

Hard choice, I’d probably have to go with iPhoto though. Makes it extremely easy to keep my photos organised.

  • Leo K

My favorite photo editing software is seashore , but it doesn’t do everything i need it too, which is why i want to upgrade to pixelmator.

  • Nate Volk

  • http://www.danocamera.com danocamera

For years I faithfully used Photoshop (since version 5.5) but I discovered Lightroom when it was first in Beta and, anymore, I use Lightroom more often than not when I’m sorting and edting my photographs.

I would jump at the chance to use Pixelmator as I have heard nothing but good things about it!

  • http://jonecat.com Jon Lawrence

    Photoshop CS4

  • DoctorZ

iPhoto is what I use – not the most capable, but OK for most uses. Pixelmator looks like an interesting alternative, with lots of extra functions.

  • http://www.flickr.com/photos/gafields/ gafields

my favourite software is lightroom 2, simply great for adjusting raw files.

One app I couldn’t live without is Apple’s Aperture. Photoshop is such a heavy beast and it’s never ready when I need to make a quick correction! So I’ve tried every lightweight Mac image-editing program out there, both free and shareware. I liked Pixelmator the most because it doesn’t try to bend my brain in its own way like Acorn does, loads in an instant, handles layers beautifully and uses familiar OS X widgets for color selection, fonts etc.

    mmm Photosop and photomatix :)

I am happy with my mac, i am happy with demo of Pixelmator. It is clean and fast program, it does not have all features but developers are listening which is great. One of the greatest features is lack of crap like in adobe suite, i don’t need Bridge, Air, Cue server, Flash panels, CMYK, zillion filtres etc. What I need are layers – check, fast brush engine – check, color correction – check and web export – yahooooo aaaand check.
    Keep it good work.

I gotta say my favorite photography software is iPhoto. Probably not the most professional, but it suits my needs just fine. For editing Photoshop of course, but sometimes it’s a hassle opening it up just to tweak a small thing or add a title. I’ve demoed Pixelmator, it loads up a lot faster.

  • Crazyhunk

    pixelmator ftw….. lol

… my poor pc is slowly fading away (chokes away a tear ad a rueful smile) … 5 visits to repair shop this year.

so I just bought a mac.

maybe working on something that’s stable and doesn’t decide that all my hard drives are USB hubs at least once a month will be boring. but I’m up for the challenge.

  • Denis

    can’t do without Aperture…

  • Andrew Ford

Experimented with Aperture 2, long-time user of Photoshop. Like them both for different reasons.

I am enjoying playing around in the trial of Pixelmator though. ^_~
