Awesome! I’ve been waiting for this site to launch!

  2. Anthony says:

I’m really excited about this site. I’m most interested in creative lighting techniques as well as post processing.

  3. This website is a very good idea ! I look forward to read more and more awesomes articles !

  4. Brady says:

Congrats on the new site! Looking forward to reading it on a frequent basis.

  5. I know its a photography website but just wondering if you could maybe get a few camera reviews regarding some cameras beginners and experts should use for their money? I’m looking to start out but I’m stuck with the kind of camera’s i should be targeting for what I want to do and this would help clarify if you written some articles regarding this.

    Thanks

    • themisfit says:

if you want reviews of cameras check our dpreview.com

    • J says:

I agree. Some examination as to what sort of kit would be good for a beginner (eg good starter cameras, lenses, tripods?, details on how to get the most out of camera features like aperture, shutter speed, exposure, etc.) would be awesome. I know a few people looking to get into photography and a bit of guidance into what makes a good lens, what makes a good camera body, and the best features to look for would be invaluable.

    • Dan says:

+1, a review of concert photography cameras would be awesome.

    • Shelly says:

I agree with this. There are sites out there with reviews etc, but I believe phototuts would be an awesome place to have reviews, and information on what different people need in a camera.

  6. Kyle Cotter says:

Another awesome resource to add to my list!

  7. Vinay says:

Just started out with my DLSR… would be glad if you can post how to go about with first DSLR Photography…. :)

  8. Amazing. I love it…

Hopefully there will be tutorials on how to take personal pictures, group pictures, *Magazine Pictures*… Etc Etc… ;)

  9. Code Dude says:

    awesomeness!!!!

  10. Love it! Just love it.

I’d like to see tips on using DLSR cameras to get good photographs. Maybe some car photography (motion and nonmotion), macro, landscape, etc.

  11. I want a really good article about workflows!

From RAW shooting, transferring, storing, treating…. softwares used, naming conventions and general tips.

    Would be sweet!

    • Jesse says:

Oh yea, I second. It would be great to go into detail about RAW format, what the pros are and what sort of things can be done with RAW formats and cant be done with others.

  12. Cheryl says:

I’d love to see a step-by-step on processing a RAW image from Bridge to Camera Raw, to Photoshop. For beginners :)

  13. Chris says:

being a creative professional (that’s what some people are calling it nowadays) who loves the artistic side of photography and has very good knowledge of all the basics, I would be interested in several aspects of photography which may be a little more advanced than the “starting out” people, but less advanced than the professionals out there, enabling me to take photography further than “Get the exposure about right, compose, make last second changes, put it out on the computer and see what you can do with it”

-interviews with photographers, like you do on Psdtuts+, where we can see what various serious amateurs and professionals are doing, and more importantly why they do things that way

-Tuts which go through what could make more interesting photographs in various conditions, and give ideas for alternative compositions and alternative camera settings, with illustrated examples of what’s different, and annotations as to what makes one image better than the other.

-Help on taking good photos in difficult conditions. (light source behind the subject and no way to get to the other side of the subject, concert photography, nature shots, low-light, advanced retouching and post-production)

-Advanced RAW processing from taking the picture to post processing. Various people who really know what they’re doing have told me many different things about what should be done when taking RAW pictures, sometimes sounding rather whacky, meaning I don’t always know what to believe. Disambiguation on this format would be nice!

and that’s just about all that I can think of :D

    • begs says:

I completely agree with the following, that would be great:

-Help on taking good photos in difficult conditions. (light source behind the subject and no way to get to the other side of the subject, concert photography, nature shots, low-light, advanced retouching and post-production)

I’d also love to see video tuts here. It’s fascinating, how others do that photgraphy thing, and it’s always very inspiring.

Thank you so much for this new tuts site!

  14. Devin Vinson says:

  18. Daniel Whyte says:

Envato, you are oddly launching sites the week after i start studying a subject, lol this is insane, i just brought some books on photography and started learning the intricacies of it this past Saturday, and i have my grandfathers camera to learn with(its been sitting in my drawers for 7 years now).
I would love to see some tutorials/articles on analogue photography, hopefully the site is not restricted to the digital domain.

  19. Grant Palin says:

Would like to see discussion on workflow processes, post-processing (in Bridge, Photoshop, etc) and management and backing up of photos.

  20. Seth Etter says:

I’ve been currently reading a lot about photography and have always appreciated the beauty of a truly good photograph. Recently I’ve decided to take it up as a hobby (possibly something more in the future) and am about to invest in my first Digital SLR camera.

I would love to see some articles on Photography for Beginners, or just some articles covering the necessary basics of photography, including understanding Digital SLR cameras and what they’re capable of.

Thanks! This website couldn’t have launched at a better time. :) Love it!

  21. sam says:

excellent… can’t wait to see the articles start to flow in. thanks

  22. Jacob says:

I’d love less post-processing and more photographic technique. We already have PStuts for that stuff.

Different image formats and the advantages of one over the other, what format is best for what.
