90+ Beautiful Lomography Shots

The growing popularity in the Lomography trend hasn’t come about by accident. The desire to capture fun-filled moments on color saturated film has now become a worldwide phenomenon and although many feel that it’s purely for amateur photographers, there’s a lot to be said for such large amounts of people engaging with film and photography for the first time.

The camera and film combinations on offer can also produce some extremely interesting and beautiful results with far more variation and artistic license than any app filter will allow you to apply to your photographs.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s all about enjoying photography and one of Lomography’s primary guidelines is to carry you camera with you everywhere, which I can recommend as having a camera to hand allows you to capture the moments in life when artistic vision strikes.

This collection of photos contains shots taken with a different cameras using a selection of films and hopefully highlights the diversity of Lomography as well as the ability to create eye catching images through the medium of film.

So what’s your favourite film? I usually take Color Negative 400 from Lomography.

My favorite film is depends on what I’m shooting. Most really high speed films are too grainy for me, so my limit for what I’ll buy is 800.

For color film – I like 50 ISO Fuji Velvia slide film, 100 ISO Ektar color neg film, 200 ISO Fuji color neg (you can find it super cheap, around $1.10 USD per roll, so it has high value for me), I also like 800 Portra color neg. I seem to shy away from 400 ISO film in color because I feel like it’s a bit of compromise.

For black and white – Anything in 400 ISO that can be pushed. You can push 400 Kodak (Tri-X or TMax) to 1600 with few problems. Grain is less evident in (and more appealing) in b/w for me anyway.
