Amazing collection. I don’t do a lot of B&W, but this certainly inspires me to give it more of a go.
I love some of these photos! I’ve always thought that bw photos have something special. Without color, they focus on light alone.

Wow! Stunning shots! I love B&W because it rlly makes you focus on the subject and composition. I’ve done a lot of darkroom work and here’s a picture I scanned in. The technique (all done in darkroom no photoshop whatsoever) was inspired by Jerry N. Uelsmann. Great photographer to look up if you haven;t heard of him..

Awesome pix- Id sen quite a few before, esp. Phillip Klingers. Its too hard to pick just one fave- they appeal for different reasons- love the kids on the ice in the mist in front of the church, the 3 snails in a row, Giovanni Orlando one of the misty canal edge…oh yeah- and the man on bicycle in front of the cathedral. I think some of the work in this collection is quite nice. However, just because the subject is crying or smoking or even in black and white does not make it art. Photography is about how you take the picture, making the subject/person/thing in the picture achieve some sort of artistic goal of what the picture should symbolize. Catching water drops on leaves does not mean the picture is amazing or awe inspiring. I believe that good photography is not about City skylines and crying girls but about beautiful, natural moments. Some of this is just not very good. I would not describe it as awe inspiring.
